부울경의 핵심축을 관통해 부산 노포에서 양산 웅상까지 10분대, 울산 신복로터리까지 30분대, 울산 KTX역까지는 50분대로 이동할 수 있으며, 현재 운영‧공사‧계획 중인 단절된 도시철도망(부산1호선, 양산선, 정관선, 울산 1호선)을 이어준다. 철도연결망(네트워크) 연계로 인한 파급효과가 크고, 빠르고 정확한 철도시설 제공으로 이용주민의 편의증진과 대중교통 활성화에 크게 이바지할 것으로 기대된다.
