☞ 시작노트｜

〈9월이 가는 소리〉는 디지털 시대의 언어를 감정의 은유로 치환함으로써, 기술과 감성의 경계에서 인간의 소외와 시간의 흐름을 표현하고자 했다. 시어로 일반인에게는 다소 어려운 ‘404 오류’, ‘알고리즘’, ‘캐시’, ‘zip 파일’, ‘푸시 알림’, ‘클라우드’과 같은 디지털 기술 용어를 감정의 은유로 차용했다. 현대인의 삶을 반영하는 장치로, ‘감정적 소외’의 표현 방식에 적합하다고 생각했기 때문이다. 멋진 가을의 풍광과 감성이 업데이트되지 않는 시스템 속으로 머무는 시간들에 대한 그리움이 커지는 계절이다.

「The Sound of September Passing」

The traffic light is an algorithm of rusted emotions

My day halted with a 404 error

The scent of coffee is cached conversation, evaporated

Sentences in books hide inside zip files

A farewell landed like a drone

September’s push notifications buzz in vibration mode

A crumpled schedule with no updates

Longing that couldn’t be saved to the cloud

☞ Beginning Note｜

“The Sound of September Passing” seeks to express human emotional alienation and the passage of time at the boundary between technology and sentiment, by transforming the language of the digital age into metaphors of feeling. The poem intentionally adopts digital technical terms—such as “404 error,” “algorithm,” “cache,” “zip file,” “push notification,” and “cloud”—as poetic devices, even though they may be unfamiliar to the general public. These terms serve as tools to reflect the lives of modern people and were chosen as fitting expressions of emotional isolation. It is a season when the longing for the beautiful scenery and sentiment of autumn deepens, as time lingers within systems that no longer update. September 21, 2025.
