뉴욕은 캘리포니아보다 3시간 빠릅니다. 하지만 그렇다고 캘리포니아가 느린 건 아닙니다.

어떤 사람은 22세에 졸업을 했지만, 좋은 일자리를 얻기 위해 5년을 기다렸습니다.

어떤 사람은 25세에 CEO가 되었지만, 50세에 세상을 떠났습니다.

또 다른 사람은 50세에 CEO가 되었고, 90세까지 살았습니다.

어떤 사람은 아직 미혼이고, 어떤 사람은 이미 결혼했습니다.

오바마는 55세에 은퇴했고, 트럼프는 70세에 시작했습니다.

세상의 모든 사람은 각자의 시간대에서 살아갑니다.

당신 주변 사람들이 당신보다 앞서가는 것처럼 느껴질 수도 있습니다.

혹은 당신보다 뒤처진 것처럼 보일 수도 있습니다.

하지만 모두가 자기만의 경주를, 자기만의 시간에 맞춰 달리고 있을 뿐입니다.

그들을 부러워하지 마세요. 그들을 비웃지도 마세요.

그들은 그들의 시간대에 있을 뿐이고, 당신도 당신의 시간대에 있는 것입니다.

인생은 적절한 순간을 기다리는 것입니다.

그러니 긴장을 푸세요.

당신은 당신만의 시간에, 아주 잘 맞춰 가고 있습니다.

New York is 3 hours ahead of California, but that doesn’t make California slow.

Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years before securing a good job.

Someone became a CEO at 25 and died at 50.

While another became a CEO at 50 and lived to 90.

Someone is still single, while someone else got married.

Obama retired at 55, and Trump started at 70.

Everyone in this world works based on their time zone.

People around you might seem to be ahead of you, and some might seem to be behind you.

But everyone is running their own race, in their own time.

Do not envy them and do not mock them.

They are in their time zone, and you are in yours.

Life is about waiting for the right moment to act.

So relax.

You’re not late.

You’re not early.

You are very much on time.

You’re Not Late is a short piece of writing that offers deep resonance. Using the time difference between New York and California as an example, it gently reminds us that the pace of life and its timing come differently to each person. The lives of various individuals mentioned in the text seem to tell us, “The place you’re in right now is perfectly okay.”

This writing reaches us not through complicated words, but through simple sincerity. That’s why it touches the heart more easily. The repeated sentences and examples soothe minds shaken by comparison and impatience. That we are all living at our own pace. And naturally, I find myself asking: Where am I right now?

From an artist’s perspective, this piece feels like an image that translates the abstract concept of time into stories of life. It resonates differently depending on the reader’s place in life, and its meaning shifts accordingly. Just as an installation artwork changes depending on the viewer’s position, this writing also creates new interpretations from each person’s point of view.

You’re Not Late quietly tells us: It’s okay not to compare yourself to others. It’s okay to walk at your own pace, in your own time zone. This writing is a warm encouragement for all of our lives.
