Sunlight’s Resting Place

짙은 가을, 골목 어귀엔 낙엽 뒹굴고

햇살 머문 자리 바람 따라 흩어지는 발자취

In deep autumn, leaves tumble at the alley’s turn,

Where sunlight lingers, footsteps scatter with the wind.

[시작노트 / Author’s Note]

짙은 가을의 골목에서 낙엽·햇살·발자취가 교차한다. 낙엽은 계절의 무게를, 햇살은 잠시 머문 빛의 흔적을, 발자취는 존재의 증명을 보여주지만 곧 바람에 흩어진다. 머무름과 사라짐, 따뜻함과 쓸쓸함은 풍경을 넘어 인간 존재의 진실을 드러낸다. 나는 이 시를 통해, 이미지와 예술의 경계에서 머무름과 사라짐의 긴장을 붙잡는 일이야말로 예술의 본질임을 고백한다.

In the deep autumn alley, fallen leaves, sunlight, and footprints intertwine. The leaves bear the weight of the season, the sunlight lingers as a fleeting trace of light, and the footprints testify to existence—yet all are soon scattered by the wind. Lingering and vanishing, warmth and solitude, move beyond the scenery to reveal the truth of human existence. Through this poem, I confess that to grasp the tension between lingering and vanishing at the boundary of image and art is, indeed, the essence of art.

[작가 해설 / Author’s Commentary]

머무름과 사라짐이 교차하는 낙엽과 햇살, 그리고 발자취는 언어와 닮아 있다. 언어는 순간을 붙잡는 도구이며, 예술은 그 순간을 오래 머물게 하는 힘이다. 독자는 이 시를 통해 계절의 이미지를 넘어, 자신의 존재를 감싸는 긴장 앞에 서기를.

Falling leaves, sunlight, and fleeting footprints—where lingering and vanishing intertwine—are much like language. Language is the vessel that seizes a moment, while art is the power that lets it endure. Through this poem, the reader is invited to move beyond the season’s images and stand before the tension that embraces their very existence.
